Defence

Developing

Students develop skills required to play defensive games. They learn a range of simple defensive tactics using a range of equipment. They learn how to defence their goal.

Discovering

Consolidating

Students refine and implement their defensive skills. They learn how to work as a team and have tactics and strategies that they can apply in different situations. They explore a range of ways to defence and can connect these to different sport and physical activity experiences.

Learning Questions:

 

  • How do you know when your team is defending?

  • How can you make it difficult for the opposition team to score?

  • How can you make it difficult for attackers to pass the ball?

  • Where do you need to stand if you are marking someone?

  • How can you anticipate the movement of the ball or a player?

  • Do you need all of your players around the ball? Where else could they be?

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

Children focus on improving and applying their basic skills in games. Simple games that have minimal defensive tactics. Games involve a variety of equipment and the students fundamental movement skills relating to defensive skills may still be developing (running, side shuffling, peripheral vision, jumping)
